You may have noticed we have changed our name, it was mentioned (just a few times) that it was not clear where the race took place. Everything else remains the same, sponsors, organisers, race route and race schedule.
Reading 10K is a great race on all levels, from a fast single lap 10K race suitable for both club athletes looking for a new PB and newer runners looking for a flat, friendly and relaxed race. We have Ali and his pace runner team on hand to help.
Our lovely lakeside event village is full of music, flags and entertainment, it’s an ideal family event with time to jog round with the kids and then run your own race, before a picnic by the lake.
Our Mini Mile and Mini Marathon 3K races take place within the safe environment of Green Park. Around 1200 children take part in the two races supported by friends and family. There are free t-shirts and great medals for everyone taking part in the mini races.
The suggested age range for the Mini Mile is 4 – 8 years and 9 – 14 years for the Mini Marathon. Parents run free but can enter if they would like the t-shirt and medal. The 3K is also open to adults who might like to have their first go at a running race.
The Green Park Schools Awards Evening takes place a couple of weeks after the races.
Awards are made to the top 3 girls and boys in the Mini Mile for age groups 4/5 5/6 & 7/8 and in the Mini Marathon for 9/10 11/12 & 13/14. There are also awards in each age group for schools with the best 3 runners from the school to score. We look forward to welcoming our 2020 winners to Green Park for a special evening
